Happy Labor Day Weekend! I'm celebrating by reading quite a lot about Syria for class while at home. It's making my head spin!
The most important thing that has happened to me recently is that I finally got to read Isla and the Happily Ever After. It's the third book by Stephanie Perkins about teenagers who go to a fictional boarding school for Americans in Paris. (The three books are companions, not sequels.) It was such a great book! It gave me that weird spacey feeling when I finished reading it because the story sucked me in so much. I really liked that all three of the main characters of the three books were so different, although I didn't really identify with any of them. Anna and the French Kiss is destined to be my favorite of the three forever, but this was still a really great read. I'm glad I got a library card in Norman!
Here are some pictures from the last few weeks:
I got my hair cut off & gave it to Locks of Love a week after I got back from Germany.
I found the Aldi in Norman! Oh Aldi, how I love you and your somewhat reasonably priced groceries. (I still think it's all too expensive. Food prices here are ridiculous.)
Like a mature adult, I have a system of self-bribery in place that makes me do my reading. This particular reward was the very last episode of the webseries Emma Approved, which is based on Jane Austen's Emma. I'm still waiting for them to do Northanger Abbey. It would lend itself to this medium so easily!
My room in my new apartment!
My closet is ridiculously huge!
Working on my timeline of the Arab Spring in the bathroom because there's a nice smooth surface in there.
The finished product! The professor didn't even ask to see them, but I'm still glad I have it for personal reference.
I got a great parking spot the other day by the stadium. Parking at OU is ridiculous - you pretty much have to follow someone to their car and wait for them to leave so you can get a spot.
